FAQs

When is the event?

The event is on Saturday the 23rd of November, in the morning. Exact timings to be announced soon.

What are the distances?

You can swim a 400m or a 1000m course. If you like to run as well, why not try the run/swim/run (200/200/200) or the 400m beach run!

How do I enter?

Pre Register first. Once we have you in the system, we will send you information about getting your official ‘mark’. Once this is done you will choose your event and enter!

How do I get my ‘mark’ or ‘handicap?

As soon as you have pre registered we will send you all the information. You will need to go to a pool to swim 200m and be timed. Once you have that information we will work out your handicap and that will determine when you start on the day of the event.

What are the costs?

Please see the overview page..

Can I do more than 1 event?

Yes. See the overview page.

If I am swimming 1000m do I still do 200 for my handicap?

Yes! We will have a formula that works out your handicap after we receive your 200m pool time.

How do I get a handicap for the run/swim/run or the 400m run?

If you are doing one of these events we will ask you to do a 400m running time at a track or somewhere where you can measure the distance accurately. If you are doing the run swim run you will also need to do your 200m pool swim so we have a handicap for both disciplines.

Where can I get my ‘mark’/handicap?

After you pre register, we will let you know what the options are. There will be some set dates and locations, nut there will also be some flexibility so don’t worry if you can’t make it on the designated dates/times.

Will I get swum over by faster swimmers???

We are aware that this might be a concern for some swimmers. We believe that with the 1000m swim there will be plenty of space for this not to happen. We will also monitor the numbers in each category and if they build to a significant level we may have 2 seperate races. That way there will be more room for everyone and we may also be able to have a final if people wish to do that!

Is there a back-up date for the event?

No unfortunately there isn’t. Given the shorter distances, it is unlikely we will need to cancel so fingers crossed!
